Looking for a professional baker with laminating experience for a part-time opportunity at Park Slope-based bakery.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow lead from Head Baker work to efficiently scale, mix, portion, shape, laminate, proof, and bake-off a variety of baked goods including breads, viennoiserie, and cakes.
Execute consistently according to prescribed recipes and standards.
Conduct regular quality checks of baked goods, assessing taste, texture, and appearance to ensure they meet our high standards.
Responsible for fulfilling the production list given by Head Baker.
Safely operate and responsibly monitor the proper functioning of equipment including ovens, mixers, slicers, cutting tools, rolling pins, lames, electric scales.
Adhere to NYDOH food handling practices and follow safety procedures for using equipment and cleaning supplies.
Maintain high levels of cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas, adhering to sanitation/health regulations and company policy.
Demonstrate a willingness to perform occasional small duties to aid other team members and bakery as a whole
AT LEAST 2+ YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL BAKING EXPERIENCE, PLUS:
Flexibility with schedule. Ability to work both as part of a team and sometimes, solo.
Lamination experience a must.
Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
Able to work in a standing position for periods of 3-5 hours without a rest break.
Hours of work for this position are approximately 20 - 30 hours per week.
Possess the ability to motivate and maintain effective working relationships with staff and partners. Strong interpersonal skills.
COMPENSATION: $19-$23 (based on experience)
